Hemp Core Wire Ropes

Overview

Hemp core wire ropes are braided from natural hemp fibers and steel wires and are typically used for lower strength and weight transportation and traction. It is lighter and easier to maneuver than steel core wire rope. Therefore, this rope is most suitable for use in Hoists and small cranes. Hemp core wire rope is not as strong as steel core wire rope , is easier to fix and reform, and is suitable where more flexibility is needed.

Inspection and care

Keep rope lubricated and off the ground. Inspect for broken wires, reduced diameter, corrosion, kinks and bird-caging, and replace it when its maker's discard criteria are reached.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and chemicals.
