Overview

Restraint lanyards are a part of the restraint system needed at height. These lanyards prevent the user from reaching the edge and hence prevent a potential fall from occurring. Since no fall occurs in a fall restraint system the restraint lanyards do not have any shock absorption element incorporated in them. It is therefore mandatory to ensure that fall restraint lanyards are never used for fall arrest.

Key features

Made up of 12mm dia Polyamide twisted rope
The spliced end is protected with a strong transparent protective covering sleeve, which not only protects the splicing but also makes the splicing.
The loops at the end are protected by an abrasion resistant thimble, which prevents the rope from being damaged by the metallic contact of the.
The rope also has a colored tracer strand (age indicator) which loses its colour in due course of time, to show that the lanyard is now unfit for.
They are available in lengths 1.0m, 1.5m, 1.8m, and 2.0m
All lanyards with different combinations of connectors mentioned below are individually certified as per EN 354:2010

Inspection and care

Inspect harnesses, lanyards and connectors before every use. Remove from service any equipment that has arrested a fall, or shows cuts, burns, chemical damage or deformed hardware. Have equipment inspected by a competent person at least every twelve months.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and chemicals.
