The base plate is designed to attach securely to a backboard or stretcher (SR-SB), providing a stable foundation for the head immobilizer.
The support pads, often made of foam or other soft materials, are designed to provide comfortable and secure support for the injured workers head and neck.
Head and chin straps are used to secure the injured worker's head in place, preventing excessive movement.
Large openings in the support pads allow for easy access to the injured worker’s ears for monitoring and communication.

Care and replacement

Inspect harnesses, lanyards and connectors before every use. Remove from service any equipment that has arrested a fall, or shows cuts, burns, chemical damage or deformed hardware. Have equipment inspected by a competent person at least every twelve months.
