Arc flash protection
Arc-rated clothing is chosen by incident energy: the garment's ATPV in cal/cm² must exceed the energy calculated for the task. IEC 61482-2 and NFPA 70E set the method and the PPE categories.
Electrical safety
Insulating gloves are rated by voltage class under IEC 60903 and should be air-tested before each use. Combine them with leather protectors, insulating mats and a face shield rated for the arc.
