Choosing a respirator
Dust and mist call for a particulate respirator: a disposable FFP2 or N95, or a reusable mask with P2 or P3 filters. Gases and vapours need a gas filter matched to the contaminant: A for organic vapours, B for inorganic gases, E for acid gases and K for ammonia.
Where the hazard is unknown or immediately dangerous, use supplied air, not a filtering respirator.
Fit
A respirator protects only if it seals to the face. Fit-test each wearer for the model issued, and keep facial hair clear of the seal.
