Choosing a hook
An eye hook takes a master link, a shackle or a wire rope eye. A clevis hook pins straight onto the chain. A swivel hook lets the load turn without twisting the sling, and a self-locking hook stays shut under load until its trigger is pressed.
Match the hook grade and WLL to the chain it goes on: a Grade 80 sling needs Grade 80 fittings throughout.
