Eye bolt or swivel point
A collared eye bolt is rated for a straight vertical pull, and its rating falls steeply as the pull leans away from the axis. Where the sling will pull at an angle, a swivel lifting point turns and pivots to face it and keeps its rating.
Screw an eye bolt fully home so that the collar seats flat on the load, in a thread that matches it and is deep enough.
